Restorative Yoga with Sharon Reed

Date/Time
01/23/2020
9:00 am - 10:30 am

Restorative yoga is a gentle yet powerful practice. It enables deep relaxation of the mind and body, as we hold poses for longer periods of time, completely supported by props such as blankets and pillows or bolsters.

Restorative yoga is highly effective at opening the body, softening connective tissue, and stretching muscles. It quiets the mind and soothes us physically, calming the sympathetic nervous system (our “fight or flight” instinct) and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. It is suitable for all levels, as long as one is comfortable lying or sitting on the floor, and is a wonderful complement for those with a more active yoga or other athletic practice. This class will include meditation and breathwork, and will occasionally incorporate the option to receive hands-on assists and energy healing.

Cost is $12 per class

About Sharon Reed:

Sharon came to yoga seeking relief from depression and anxiety, as well as looking for a way to connect to a physical practice. Over a decade later, she credits it with tremendous healing and growth, mentally, physically, and spiritually, and is so happy to be able to share that. Sharon practices and teaches many styles, from yin and restorative to vinyasa, and is devoted to making yoga — the physical and mental practices — accessible to all. She believes everyone can find their practice, and it is her calling to guide people towards health and healing in all forms. She has her YTT 200 hour certification, is in the process of becoming certified in Thai Yoga Massage. In addition, she has studied Reiki for many years, and has her levels I, II, III, and Master certification.
