Rootwork and Setting Lights: Candle Magic with Danielle Dionne

Setting lights is a traditional hoodoo and conjure practice of candle magic. Hoodoo, often referred to as conjure or root work, is a system of southern African-American folk magic rooted in a diverse blend of magical practices. In this class, learn Rootworker methods to create a spiritual petition or name paper for the purpose of your work and how to implement a candle altar service. We will cover traditional uses for vigil candles, candle colors, how to load and dress candles with herbs, conditioning oils, and how to incorporate seals, psalms, and prayers into your ritual work. Participants will load and dress a candle to take home with them.
