Words of Witches: Poetry and Witchcraft Hosted by Temple of Witchcraft ONLINE or IN PERSON

Date/Time
07/24/2019
7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Hear now the words of the Witches,
The secrets we hid in the night,
When dark was our destiny’s pathway,
That now we bring forth into light…

Doreen Valiente, “The Witches’ Creed”

Often, the experiences of the witch are ineffable. Our most profound moments of initiation and vision tend to be beyond the scope of prose or everyday language. And often, we struggle to articulate and share these experiences with others. Sometimes, poetry enables us to express ourselves in non-literal, non-linear, and non-traditional ways, allowing us to creatively partner with spirit to convey these profound or initiatory experiences.

Join us for an evening of discussion, poetry sharing, and collaborative creation! Please bring an original poem to be shared (keeping to the themes of witchcraft or spirituality).

Optional homework assignment: We thought it would be fun if our poetry shares were around a theme this time! We’ll just be coming into Lammas season and figured sharing around harvest, sacrifice, etc., would be appropriate. Allow the season to inspire your thoughts on what you’ve manifested for yourself this year. Or maybe you feel called to write a devotional to the sacrificed Grain God. However this first harvest inspires you, we’d love to hear it!

Suggested donation: $10-$20
