A Light in the Dark: Techniques of Candle Magic with Matthew Venus – Canceled

Join us for an afternoon of candle magic as folk magician and rootworker Matthew Venus discusses practical approaches to creating effective candle spells for a variety of purposes. In this workshop will discuss a bit of the history of candle magic, followed by discussion of various types of candles and their preparations, including blessing, dressing, carving, and fixing candles. We will also discuss the use of magical oils, herbs, petitions and name papers. Each student will then craft their own candle spell to take home with them.
